Food Grade Warehousing – What’s Involved?

Share

Quality food grade warehousing requires adherence to strict standards and regulations.  As an ambient storage facility, Bridgeport Distribution is:

  • FDA registered
  • USDA inspected
  • Organic certified and inspected by third part auditors (ASI – Agricultural Sustainability Institute)
  • Inspected by pest control every two weeks

But that’s only part of the story…

Bridgeport Distribution management has almost 70 years of experience in the industry. We understand that there is more to warehousing than adherence to industry regulations. We consider ourselves partners with many local food processing plants who need to store and ship ingredients that end up in nearly all Northwest pantries. Prioritizing relationships with those partners has led to a synergy that we have experienced within the industry for many years. One of our customers stores sugar. We ship that sugar to the production facility. In addition, we ship empty bottles to that same facility. The sugar is converted to syrup and bottled. When the finished product returns to us, we unload then reload to ship the syrup to smaller suppliers who then distribute it to local NW coffee shops.

Enjoy your morning cup of joe!
